Spay or neuter your pet! We highly recommend spaying and neutering your pets. There are health benefits for a spayed or neutered pet, and it helps with pet overpopulation.  Overall, spaying and neutering can reduce undesirable behaviors in our pets, enhancing our bond with them, and affording them a nicer quality of life Click here for information about neutering your pet

Prevent heartworm in your dog and your cat We recommend heartworm testing every other year if your pet is on a preventative all year long.  For pets that are on seasonal prevention (May through November), we recommend annual testing.  Don't forget, cats can get heartworm too! Click here for information about heartworm

Normal Body Temperatures

Dogs and Cats:  101-102.5 degrees Horses:  99-101 degrees

Obesity in Pets Obese dogs can suffer from breathing problems, high blood pressure, arthritis and skin and hair coat problems.

Obese cats are more than twice as likely as cats of optimal weight to develop nonallergic skin conditions, four times as likely to develop diabetes mellitus, and five times as likely to develop lameness requiring veterinary care.

Obesity will shorten your pet's life.

We carry Slentrol to help your dog lose weight.  Your dog will need to have a monthly weight check at the clinic when using Slentrol.  It can NOT be given to cats, and should NEVER be taken by people!
