Hanna Palanchian, DVM

Dr. Hanna Palanchian grew up in South Florida, where her love of riding horses first began. In 2015, she made the move to New England for undergrad, where she got a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Science at the University of New Hampshire. She made the decision to pursue her veterinary degree at Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, so she packed up her two geldings and settled into Massachusetts.

While at Tufts, Dr. Palanchian worked as an equine veterinary technician in the Tufts Large Animal Hospital, where she focused on critical care. Her passion for equine medicine inspired her to join the Equine Neonatal ICU team first as a member, and later as head coordinator. During her three years on the NICU team, she worked closely with many difficult foalings and “dummy foals”, which ignited her love of foal medicine. During her Summers off from vet school, Dr. Palanchian and her two horses traveled to Pennsylvania to pursue the sport of Eventing. While there, she was a working student for the 5-Star Event rider, Sara Gumbiner.

Dr. Palanchian recently traveled to Cotacachi in Ecuador on a volunteer trip to spay and neuter the street dog population. This trip solidified her love for small animal surgery and for helping under-resourced communities receive veterinary care. She is now back in Massachusetts and excited about being the newest addition to the Mill Valley team! Dr. Palanchian spends her free time riding her horses, spending time with her cat named Edith, and enjoying Lake Winnipesaukee with her family.
